Our history

March : Culture Summit of UCLG, Bilbao – Approval of the document updating Agenda 21 for culture: "Culture 21 Actions".

April: Launch of the global Pilot City and the Europeam Pilot City (in collaboration with Culture Action Europe) programmes for 2015, both based on the experience of the 2014.

February: Launch of the pilot cities 2014 programme, aiming to document the updating of Agenda 21 for culture. The Pilot cities were: Belo HorizonteBogotaConcepciónGabrovoProvince of JejuMexico CityTalcaVaudreuil-Dorion.

March: Launch of an online results of our questionnaire on the Agenda 21 for culture and how to improve it.

AprilSynthesis report of a workshop held in Dakar (April 2014) on the issue "Towards a New Agenda 21 for Culture: African Cities take the floor".

July: End of the questionnaire, with 255 answers received, of which 142 can be considered complete.

September: Seminar “Cities, Cultures and Futures”, Buenos Aires – Pursuit of the process of producing a new document updating Agenda 21 for culture.

JuneMeeting of the Committee on Culture of UCLG,in Lille (France) – Approval of the process of producing a new document updating Agenda 21 for culture d’un document by the Executive Bureau of UCLG.

September: Seminar “Cities, Cultures and Futures”, Buenos Aires – Pursuit of the process of producing a new document updating Agenda 21 for culture.

October: World Congress of UCLG, Rabat – Pursuit of the process of producing a new document updating Agenda 21 for culture.

November: Seminar with the research network COST on “Investing in cultural sustainability”, Brussels – Pursuit of the process of producing a new document updating Agenda 21 for culture.

Approval of Agenda 21 for culture by UCLG as a founding document.
