Capitals of Culture Engaging for the Culture Goal
The Committee on Culture of UCLG has launched its 12th report: Capitals of Culture Engaging for the Culture Goal.
Written by Sylvia Amann, the report analyses how the proposed Culture Goal framework and Capitals of Culture initiatives across four continents can reinforce one another. It highlights the potential of this collaboration to strengthen cultural ecosystems, support fair cultural relations, and give greater recognition to the role of local and regional governments in international cultural policymaking.
The report identifies key areas for common action and proposes three shared objectives for future collaboration: enhanced local, national and international visibility; improved multilevel cultural governance; and better access to funding and know-how, including through pilot actions for sustainable development.
The report is available in English.
